Broadway’s universal appeal

Broadway has been resilient in spite of the economic slump and controversial productions.

Gross sales are at an all-time high, and despite negative reviews, a spate of injured cast members and workplace safety violations, the $65-million production “Spiderman” is one of the highest grossing productions since previews began last November.
